Bitter Harvest is a film by George Mendeluk about the Holodomor, one of the worst man-made famines in the history. In 1932- 1933, this genocide imposed by the regime of Joseph Stalin targeted the total subjugation of the Ukrainian people, but the Soviets could not contain the Ukrainian desire to be free. The story unfolds around a young and courageous couple who is not afraid to fight against the destructive system imposed by the Soviet Union. Their rebellious spirit inspires many to never give up in the struggle for survival and freedom.

Presented by Manitoba’s Ukrainian Canadian Student Society (MUCSS) with the Ukrainian Canadian Students’ Union (SUSK) , together with d Films and The University of Winnipeg Ukrainian Students’ Association
