A Brown Bag Lecture with Dr. Michelle Gallant, Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Manitoba
Dr. Gallant will challenge us to consider the impacts of tax havens and how they impact inequality and the prospects for global peace and justice. The presentation will explore modern initiatives and international efforts to regulate global tax evasion and the implications for terrorist finance and corruption.
In part a reflection on the 2017 Sol Kanee Lecture, where Mr. Steve Killelea defined peace as a positive, tangible and achievable measure of human well-being, Dr. Gallant will consider the tax-related legal and structural impediments which actively challenge the prospects for peace.
