On behalf of the Manitobans for Human Rights Inc. Youth Advisory Council. December 9th will mark our third annual Human Rights Day luncheon in celebration of the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the United Nation’s Declaration of Human Rights. We celebrate this momentous occasion by hosting a luncheon for the community. We join, hand-in-hand, with the global community as they commemorate the victory for human rights that was the signing of the declaration.
This year the Youth Advisory Council has chosen to focus on a sub-section of the greater issue of human rights; that being the rights of immigrants and refugees in Canada. This enthusiastic and passionate group of young Manitobans are heavily invested in exploring, educating, and promoting the rights of immigrants and refugees.
The luncheon will be held on Sunday, December 9th at the Norwood Community Centre here in our beautiful city. The event will serve as a means for learning and open discussion about immigrant issues; with expert speakers, personal stories and accounts, a Q & A panel, and presentations from our own council members.
All proceeds from the event will go to further good works by the Youth Advisory Council. Tickets start at $10 for students, $20 for general, and $200 for a table of 10. We have opted to keep the price low as a way to promote inclusion and accessibility for all. With that being said, we need help to make this event possible. It would not be possible to carry out our important mission without the contributions from volunteers and organizations like your own/people like yourself.
We ask that you sponsor us in our quest to put on the best Human Rights Day event. With a tax-deductible monetary contribution you will support our enthusiastic young people, and better the community at the same time.
If you wish to purchase tickets for the MHRI Youth Advisory Committee’s 3rd Annual Luncheon. You may purchase the tickets online at Eventbrite: “click here”. If you do so wish, I would be thrilled to discuss more in detail over the phone, I can be reached at 204-891-9940, or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We rely on the generosity of community leaders. Please consider being our partner in this exciting opportunity!
