Speaker: Dr. Emma M. Smith

Dr. Emma M. Smith is an occupational therapist and postdoctoral research fellow at the Assisting Living and Learning Institute at Maynooth University in Ireland. Dr. Smith’s work focuses on assistive technologies, their role in promoting participation and inclusion for persons with disabilities and other functional limitations, and the policies and systems necessary to ensure access to assistive technology for all. Dr. Smith currently works with the AT2030 program based at the Global Disability Innovation Hub at University College London, and contributes to several initiatives at the World Health Organization in the areas of assistive technology and disability. Dr. Smith is also the Editor in Chief of RESNA’s Assistive Technology Journal.
