In collaboration with Indigenous Engagement and Communications at the University of Manitoba, we will be hosting an event in honour of the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and Two-Spirit People (MMIWG2S+). Red Dress Day (May 5th) honours the thousands of missing and murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual Plus (MMIWG2S+) people in Canada by encouraging learning and building awareness to end violence against MMIWG2S+.
On Thursday, May 4th at 10:30 am, please join us in 307 Tier at the University of Manitoba for a seminar, lunch, and beading workshop in honour of National MMIWG2S+ Awareness Day. Everyone’s health is important to us – masking is recommended. In lieu of a registration fee, please consider making a donation to an Indigenous-led organization working with MMIWG2S+.
To ensure we have enough food and space to welcome everyone, please register now!
