BROWN BAG LECTURE:

“What they’ve been through is why they are here” Storytelling and School Practice

Marc Kuly, Assistant Professor, Service Learning Coordinator, Faculty of Education, University of Winnipeg

This lecture retells the story of the use of story to connect a group of really diverse students in downtown Winnipeg. The lecture will lay out the conditions that gave rise to the project and the techniques used within it. In addition, stories of the post-project development of the students in the project will be included which will shed some light on the potential long term effects of storytelling in the development of identity.

All Brown Bag Lectures are free and open to the public.
