This event resembles the teach-ins held each evening during the Pilgrimage for Indigenous Rights, which wrapped up in Ottawa in May 2017. Over 100 walkers from all over Turtle Island travelled the 600km pilgrimage to Ottawa, raising awareness and calling on the federal government to adpot and implement the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) via Bill C-262. Daily teach-ins included walkers, hosts, advocates, elders, and diverse community members, gathering to share experiences and learn together.
