Angela Ciceron (she/her/hers) is a first-generation Filipino immigrant settler currently completing her Master’s degree in Economics with a concentration in Economics and Society at the University of Manitoba. She completed her BA in Global Political Economy in 2023, through which she developed her research interests in political economy, gender, and migrant work, with a focus on the Philippines and the Filipino diaspora in Canada. Angela spends her spare time as a community organizer for migrant rights and issues facing the Filipino community in Winnipeg and beyond. As a queer Filipino settler immigrant in Winnipeg, many of the intersecting issues affecting the Philippines and the Filipino diaspora are near and dear to her heart.
