Jennifer Amadi (she/her) is Nigerian from the Niger Delta region and currently a graduate student of the Joint Master’s Programme (JMP) in Peace and Conflict Studies (PACS) University of Manitoba and University of Winnipeg. Prior to her graduate studies in UofM, Jenny has obtained a PhD degree from the University of Port Harcourt in August 2023 and her thesis was on the Social Effects of Sexual Violence Among Women of Reproductive Age in Nine Local Government Areas in Rivers State, Nigeria. Jenny is an international gender and development professional with field experience in research and programmatic activities. Her work context is within Nigeria with somewhat specific coverage across the West Africa Sub-Region, Orient and Oceania. Her area of specialization includes implementation and design research, program implementation, gender training, policy development, advocacy, and strategy development. Thematically, she has worked on gender-based violence, sexual reproductive health and rights, family planning, menstrual health management, women’s nutrition, and philanthropic funding. Looking ahead, Jenny is committed to bringing feminist critiques and rights-based approaches to PACS theories and praxis. Jenny is excited to be supporting the JUST WATERSThinking with hydro-social relations for a more just and sustainable world project.
