Dr. Warren Bernauer is an assistant professor of geography researching resource conflicts, environmental governance, economic development, and Indigenous rights in northern Canada. His work documents and analyzes colonial continuities in both the use and governance of resources in Canada. His current research projects examine the conflicts and inequities embedded in Canada’s transition away from fossil fuels, focusing on conflicts over critical mineral extraction, nuclear waste disposal, and electricity generation in the North.
