Politics.PERIOD. A Panel on Menstrual Equity and Justice, in Honour of International Women’s Day.

The Centre for Human Rights Research alongside Women’s Centre is excited to host an event in honour of International Women’s Day.

Politics. PERIOD. will include tabling from student groups and community organizations from 10:30-11:30am. 

Dr. Jen Gunter will open the event, sharing a few words from her new book “Blood: The Science, Medicine, and Mythology of Menstruation” at 11:30am, followed by a panel discussion entitled Politics.PERIOD. Panelists include:

  • Christine Cyr, Associate Vice-President (Indigenous) – Students, Community and Cultural Integration, University of Manitoba 
  • Jelynn Dela Cruz, MLA Radisson
  • Victoria Romero, Research Assistant “Period Poverty and Equity, On Campus and Beyond” 
  • Dr. Lisa Smith, Coordinator of the Menstrual Cycle Research Group at Douglas College.

We are thrilled to collaborate with the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Architecture. This event was made possible by funding, in part, from the University of Manitoba Strategic Initiatives Support Fund.
