Hannah Belec (she/her) is a graduate student in the Joint Master of Arts in History Program (Archival Studies Stream) at the University of Manitoba (UM) and the University of Winnipeg. In 2025, Hannah graduated from UM with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History. Her research interests include public history — specifically the teaching of history through archives, museums, and schools — and the history of women and youth in Canada.
Hannah is incredibly grateful to have worked as a Student Research Assistant (SRA) on three Centre for Human Rights Research projects: Period Poverty and Equity, On Campus and Beyond; History in the Hot Seat: Colonialism and the Knowing and Teaching of Canada’s Past; and Bridging the Gap Between Human Rights Research and Practice.
