Trixie Maybituin [may-bee-two-inn] (she/her) is a community organizer, Filipino settler, first-generation immigrant, and Master of Human Rights student at the University of Manitoba. She focuses on economic and social rights budgeting and human rights cities. Her current work applies a human rights-based approach to Winnipeg’s municipal budget to ensure that resources are dedicated to housing, education, health, and other social rights. Outside the university, Trixie loves learning and unlearning with the community, sewing clothes, and enjoying food with people she loves and cares about. Trixie is working with the CHRR with work on “Missing the Bus: Indigenous Women and Two-Spirit Plus People and Public Transit in Western Canada.”
