Victoria Romero (she/they) is a Political Studies and History student in her final year at the University of Manitoba. Victoria is particularly interested in the study of the development and status of human rights post-industrialization.

Victoria is passionate about gender equity and sexual/reproductive health (SRH); she is a member of Action Canada’s National Youth Advisory Board and is a Youth Champion of the Women and Gender Equality Canada ‘It’s Not Just’ campaign to end gender-based violence. Victoria is an active member of the University of Manitoba student community; she is currently the Vice-President Cultural and Social Engagement of the UM Racialized Equity Inclusion Alliance. In 2022-2023, Victoria served as the Vice-President Advocacy at the University of Manitoba Students’ Union, during which she developed and successfully advocated for the implementation of the (free) Period Product Pilot Program at the UM.

Victoria is excited to continue her advocacy for menstrual justice as a Student Research Assistant for the Centre for Human Rights Research “Period Poverty and Equity, On Campus and Beyond” project.
